Allen Lee Olsen 09/29/1928 - 06/08/2010
Master gardener, philosopher, and carpenter.
"The time came up! Sing no sad songs for me. I had the best of times and traveled and was well loved."
Allen enjoyed his time on the family ranch in Heber growing up. He loved his collection of classic cars, great music and ballroom dancing. Good times, good friends, sunrise and sunsets on his patios.
Allen was intelligent, caring and charming. He shared with his family and friends the keys that would open doors to an expanded view of the world and encouraged them to explore different paths. Allen graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, attended Bakersfield College, and Cal-Poly Tech in California. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Baltimore. He received Navy Occupational Service Medal and the National Defense service medal with European Clasp. Allen married Shirley (Shirl) Heiens and later divorced.
Survived by wife Diane Berrett Olsen; Son Brook (Peggy) Olsen; daughters Darcy Carlson and Dawn Siddoway; granddaughters Kirstin Olsen - Jake Yardley, and Courtney Siddoway; grandsons Chase Siddoway, Colton Siddoway; great grandchildren Hunter Olsen, Tiyanikka and Danikka Siddoway; brothers Gorden (Golda) Olsen and Paul (Tina) Olsen; sister Carolyn Coon, Marilyn (Ken) Farnsworth, Linda (Rick) Westphal, and many nieces and nephews.
