Alta Higbee Jacobsen

Our Mother, Alta Higbee Jacobsen was reunited with her husband February 14, 2010 on the day of their 60th anniversary. She was 92 years old and died at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 21, 1918 in Dubois, Idaho to Samual Somers Higbee and Phoebe Annis Meservy. She married Dean L. Jacobsen on February 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) and held various positions. She was known for her food storage and genealogy work.
She is survived by six children: Terry (Madge) Johnson, Sharon (Bruce) Black, Kathie (Larry) Hardman, Barbara (William) Sales, Fred (Danielle) Jacobsen and Wally Jacobsen. She has 53 grandchildren, over 100 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in her death by her husband Dean, and Sons Duane Johnson, and Gary Jacobsen.
Alta was a great person and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held February 18 at the Hillcrest 4th ward chapel, 440 East 800 South in Orem under the direction of Bishop Martin Hillman. There will be a viewing for family members one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
