Andrea Janae Lopez  Feb 16, 1976 – March 15, 2025

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Andrea Janae Lopez, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Andrea was surrounded by family members and her devoted husband during her final days. She peacefully passed away at her home under Hospice care after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

She was born Andrea Janae Encinas in 1976 in Sebastopol, CA, the first born to James & Arlene Encinas. The family moved to Contra Costa County, northeast of San Francisco in 1977, where they settled in Antioch.

Andrea loved books and reading from a very young age. She could read children's books by the age of 3 1/2 and started kindergarten at the age of 4, excelling while attending both Christian schools in Antioch and Concord, CA through Junior High. She continued to excel academically while attending public high school and graduated college with honors.

In 1995 Andrea met the love of her life, Javier Lopez. They married in May, 2004 enjoying a wonderful honeymoon, creating lifelong memories while staying a week at Carmel by the Sea and visiting Big Sir and Monterey. Also in 2004, Andrea and Javier moved to Utah to be closer to Andrea's parents and later purchased a home in Salt Lake City where they lived until their move to South Jordan, UT in 2016. Andrea's support, devotion and faith in Javier as he advanced his career to an IT Tech in the computer field and as he developed a small business, building computers was unwavering.

Andrea was a talented artist, especially enjoying water color painting and drawing. After her cancer diagnosis, she taught herself to crochet, donating the 40 caps she crocheted to cancer patients across the country. Her life was a beautiful testament to love and devotion.

Andrea is survived by her loving husband Javier Lopez, her proud parents Arlene and James Encinas of North Ogden, UT and her brother Jim Encinas also of North Ogden, UT. Additionally, 4 aunts, Bonnie Miller, Mary Ann Priddy, Jewel Locken and Myong Keopke, 3 uncles, Dan Keopke, Jess Keopke and Michael Encinas as well as 14 cousins will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Harry Keopke, Letha Keopke, Ida Cameron, Gilbert Encinas and by her uncles Larry Keopke and Clarence (Butch) Miller, her aunts Margaret Encinas, Susan Keopke, Phanida Keopke, Dee Miller and Donna Bechman, her cousins Darius Bocage, Bobby Gutter, Lana Encinas and Matthew Encinas.
