Anita L. Cross, 74, of Provo, Utah passed peacefully from this life, May 31st, 2008 at her home of natural causes. Born May 7, 1934 in Salmon, Idaho to Lawrence J. and Evelyn K. Bills. She was the only daughter and eldest of four children. After graduating from Salmon High School, she studied Elementary Education and Spanish at Brigham Young University and earned her BA degree in 1956. She married Gene Bryant Cross in 1956 and spent 52 wonderful years together. They began their family in San Diego while her husband completed his commitment to the navy and settled in Salt Lake City where she had the remaining four of her seven children. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and filled her life with service to others in missionary work, teaching and holding various leadership positions in several organizations of the church. She traveled the world touching the lives of many people through her many acts of service and compassion. She served two full-time missions with her husband in Australia and Ohio. Anita's greatest happiness was being with family and friends and a good sale. Her motto for her family and life was "Fun Happy Times." She was a constant source of loving, patient support and encouragement to her eternal companion, family and those she came in contact with. She will be greatly missed by her husband, 7 children, 31 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two brothers and many others whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
The services will be held at the Pleasant View 5th Ward, 1060 East 2400 North, Provo, Utah, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be held at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, following the service.
