Ann Barnes Longshaw

Ann Barnes Longshaw passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on April 20, 2025 due to severe pneumonia.

Ann was born September 30, 1952 in Brigham City, Utah to Vernile Barnes and Hazel Innes. She attended Skyline High School (class of 1971). She also attended Broadview University earning an Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting. Ann spend time working in different fields, including certified nursing assistant and many years in the customer service industry more recently at United Parcel Services (UPS).

in 1971, she married Robert K. (Kenny) Longshaw. Together they had two children, Mercedes and John Longshaw. She was very proud of her children, and loved them both very much. Ann and Kenny divorced in 1986.

Ann was a kind person and easily made friends with the people she would meet. Her friends would often describe her as "quite a character". She was giving of the time and resources she had available. Ann liked to have family and friends gather for holidays. She liked to make big meals on Christmas and Thanksgiving. She loved the outdoors especially swimming. She also loved to travel and was hoping to someday make it to England where a lot of her ancestors originated from.

She was very proud of obtaining her Associates Degree. She would often say how proud her mother would be to know of her accomplishment. She loved her mother very much and would ofter talk about how much she missed and loved her. Ann loved to read, especially Stephen King books. She had many books and would also spend hours listening to books on Audible. She also loved to color intricate pictures. Saw always found it very relaxing.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Mercedes Mortensen (Klytah), her son, John R. (Stephanie) Longshaw and her sister, Mary Jane Davies. She is also survived by her three granddaughters; Cameron H. (Torin) Olsen, Madison M. Olsen and Maia Longshaw. She is preceded in death by her dear parents and her best friend and love, Mary Kay "MK" Larsen.

Per Ann's wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date pending notification of friends and family.
