Ann Ramos Martinez: Born November 2, 1922, passed peacefully at home on September 10, 2010. Ann was born in Sherman Texas to Refugio Sanchez and Julian Acosta Ramos, but was cared for by her grandmother Ferdinanda until her death in 1930. Ann married Rudolph Martinez in Green River, Wyoming, November 23, 1945. Together they had 4 children; Christopher (Sandra) Martinez, Ralph (Linda) Martinez, Patricia (Jody) Whitaker and estranged daughter Guadalupe Cullis. She has 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Ann is preceded in death by her sister Martha Flores of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and her beloved dog Louie.
Mom was happiest spending time with her granddaughter Elle who she had an incredible bond with, as well as Gary and Emarie (grandchildren). Jody and I are forever grateful for the time she spent with Elle and thank her for helping us raise a remarkable young lady. Mom will be remembered for her faith in God, generosity, kindness, and intuitive way she had of always knowing when we needed her most. Her gift of cooking was envied by all and she was best known for her perfectly round homemade tortillas, salsa and chili Verde.
We are confident she'll continue to watch over us as she always did on earth. Knowing she is without pain brings immense comfort to her family. Mom, may you rest in peace, we will always love you and miss you.
The family will hold visitation September 16th between 6:00 - 6:45 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church 1975 So. 2300 East, Salt Lake City with her rosary beginning at 7:00PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday September 17th at 10:00 AM.
