Ben Lawrence Higley completed his journey here in mortality on Tuesday, August, 18, 2009 at his home after a diligent battle with cancer. His love and his example of optimism will be forever imprinted on our minds and in our hearts. Ben was born November 11, 1953 in Brigham City, UT. He was raised in Mantua, UT and He was schooled in Brigham City. He graduated from Box Elder High in 1972. He married and divorced Terri Anderson, Annette Petersen, and Robin Reynolds. Ben married Gloria M. Higley on December 5th, 2002 in Las Vegas, NV. Gloria was the love of his life and brought to him the devotion and support that helped him through the last few months. Ben worked in the family construction business, the mining industry, as an alchemist and as a health practioner. His occupations were diverse and his knowledge was vast. His Children, Sara Higley (Scott) of Ogden, UT., Sam Higley of Ogden, UT., Alma Higley of Salt Lake City, UT., Jared Higley of Tremonton, UT., Michael Higley of Tremonton, UT., Grace Higley of Salt Lake City,UT. Step Children Kassandra Wesman (John) of Salt Lake City, Krisstina Egelund of Salt lake City, Kammie Egelund of Salt Lake City, UT. His siblings: John Higley (Sally) of Brigham city, UT., Julie Workman (Wade) of Farmington, UT., Dan Higley (Marchelle) of Brigham City, UT., Paul (Kari) Higley of Benson, UT. Ben's services will be held at the LDS chapel on 4395 S. Albright Drive, Holladay, UT 84124, starting with a viewing on Sunday evening, August 23, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00PM and another viewing on Monday morning, August 24, 2009 from 10:30- 11:30. The funeral will follow the viewing on Monday August 24, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Following the funeral there will be a graveside service at the Mantua, UT cemetery. A heartfelt thanks to family, neighbors and friends who devoted so much love and support to Ben and his family in recent months. A special thanks to the Huntsman sarcoma team at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and Alpine Hospice for all their care and love.
