Beth Richards Farr

Unconditional love, service and commitment - Beth Richards Farr passed away on March 31, 2007 after a long illness. She was born in Logan, Utah on May 16, 1923 to Charles Leech and Susan Maude Matheson Richards. She lived a valiant and noble life and was a great example of grace, acceptance and true kindness. She was especially attentive to those who were lonely or had lost a loved one. Every Sunday, until she was no longer able, she prepared and delivered dinner to those who needed a good home-cooked meal. She was a wonderful hostess and all were welcome at her table.
As a teenager she was an accomplished tennis player and won many tournaments using a borrowed racquet. She had a great groundstroke and showed her determination to win by hitting the ball until she wore her opponent down. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. For over fifty years, she and eleven of her high school friends met for lunch once a month in each other's homes. "Club" was a highlight of her life and those women were our mother's true friends.
She was intelligent and well-read and had a great talent for real estate and finance. We will miss her positive influence in our lives and her never-ending love. She taught us to work hard and supported us in everything we chose to do. She is survived by her four children Richard (Johanna), Suzanne Peterson (Jeff), Rebecca, and Patricia, and two sisters (Betty Cahoon and Sue Frasier) and two brothers (Claude and Keith Richards). She was so proud of her ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Richard in Farmington City Cemetery. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Imperial First Ward, 2738 South Filmore Street. Family and friends may call at the church 1 hour before the service.
