Betty Maurine Jones Adkins

Betty Maurene (Jones) Adkins of Orem, was born in Hartington, Nebraska on July 17, 1924, and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday evening, January 15, 2008 surrounded by family.
Betty was a dedicated member of the LDS church; she will be remembered for living a Christ-like life filled with love, charity, service, and a positive outlook on life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, water aerobics, her book club, walking, and weekly attendance at the LDS temple. Betty and her loving husband, Glenn raised their family in Whittier, California, and had many friends there. They relocated to Orem upon retirement, and have lived there for approximately 20 years. Betty was adored by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Hollis Adkins; children; Michael (Jacalyn) Vercoe, Daniel Adkins, Laurie Adkins, and Diane (Douglas) Polhamius, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and her brother, Charles W. (Bill) Jones of Prospect, Oregon. Betty's son, David preceded her in death November 2007.
Funeral services will be held at the Orem 3rd Ward LDS church at 50 South 800 East in Orem at Noon, Tuesday, January 22, 2008. A viewing will be held at the same location from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
