On Thursday, February 9, 2012, Betty Lee Andersen Glauser passed away due to complications from pneumonia. She was 83 years of age. She rejoins in heaven her husband, Alfred Junior and her daughter, Susan Emma.
Betty was born January 19, 1929 in Tremonton, Utah, the youngest child of Elias Andersen and Abigail Amanda Hansen. Betty grew up on the Andersen farm and orchards in Elwood, Utah. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1947. During her freshman year at Utah State College in Logan, Utah, she came to know Alfred Junior Glauser. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on June 6, 1949. Betty and Al raised their family in Portland, Oregon where they lived for most of the next 34 years.
A watershed experience for Betty was participating in a foreign aid project with her family in Uganda, East Africa from 1967 to1969. She and Al retired to Ogden, Utah in 1985. Since Al's passing over three years ago, she has been near family in the Salt Lake Valley.
Betty was a full-time stay-at-home mom. Two of her greatest accomplishments include her tireless caring for her special needs daughter, Susan, for over 40 years, and blessing her children and grandchildren to have healthy self esteem.
Betty experienced much joy in serving in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Al served a Church Education System mission in the Ogden area. Betty also enjoyed her associations in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Ogden Child Culture Club. Vocal music, singing a beautiful vibrato soprano, was an important pleasure for Betty Lee, and when she could no longer sing, she whistled.
Betty is survived by sons Alfred Paul (Vickie) of Draper, Utah; David Lee (Daphna) of Central Point, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, at the Draper First Ward LDS Chapel, 12300 South 600 East, Draper, Utah. A viewing will precede the service from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
