Betty Jean Barber Paxman

Betty Jean Barber Paxman, 86, our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on Oct. 24, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Betty was born November 20,1924, in Salt Lake City and was the youngest of three daughters born to Horace Eugene Barber and Ann Ellen Walsh Barber. She is preceded in death by her sisters Naomi Little and Louise Kienitz.
Betty grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High. She worked at the the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Salt Lake City. She married her beloved companion Garth McCune Paxman on June 19, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Chicago and she lovingly supported their family while Garth attended Dental School at Loyola University. After graduating, they moved to Chandler, AZ, where they raised their family and lived for over fifty years. After retiring, they returned to their roots in Salt Lake.
Betty was an amazing mother; devoted and determined in raising responsible and grateful children. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enthusiastically served wherever she was called. She holds sacred the time that she was able to serve in the Arizona Temple. She loved America, her family, her testimony, getting her hair done, cooking, and eating chocolate every day.
