Betty Lee Pinkston, 93, of Mantua, passed away May 1, 2009 at her home of natural causes. She was born Feb. 11, 1916 in Kansas City, Missouri to L.O. and Esther Marie Calkins Davis.
She spent her early years and was educated in Kansas City. She married James Ronald Pinkston on July 30, 1935 in Santa Ana, Calif. He died May 2, 2000. They lived in California until moving to Utah in 1976.
She won many awards for the cakes she baked and decorated. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband filled a mission to the Australia Adelaide Mission.
She is survived by her 4 children: Ronald Lee (Connie) Pinkston of Sequim, Washington; Patricia Gail DeWitt of Idaho Falls; John William (Frances) Pinkston of Mantua; Kathleen Marie (Jack) Adams of Park City, Utah; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extended heart felt thanks to Love Hospice for their care.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mantua 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family one hour before services. Interment will be in the Mantua Cemetery.
