Blain Markham Wilson passed away peacefully on July 27, 2006 due to complications from a ten year bout with Parkinson's disease. He was 76 years old. Blain was born January 30, 1930 in Leland, Utah to Lee and Helen Wilson. He grew up in Payson and Hinckley, Utah, graduating from Hinckley High School. He also attended BYU before serving a mission to the Northwestern States. Blain spent his professional life in law enforcement working as chief of police in Payson for several years and spending more than 20 years as a member of the Utah Highway Patrol. He was an active member of the LDS church serving in a variety of church callings including high counselor, teacher, executive secretary, and many others.
A loving, caring, and involved father, Blain taught his family how to work hard, to respect others, and to keep God as the center of their lives. We love him eternally and will be forever grateful for the chance to call him Husband and Dad.
Blain is survived by his wife of 52 years, Colleen, and four children, Steven (Julie) of Payson, Valerie (Bret) of Santaquin, Stewart (Loni) of Hurricane, and Deborah (Colin) of Springville, sister Kathryn (Jack) Manis of Las Vegas, and step-brother Leon (Sherrie) Lewis of Hinckley. He also leaves a legacy of 16 grandchildren and two great-grand children.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen, father Lee, step-mother Ellen, step-mother Lois, brother Gerald and brother Jay.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 31 at 11:00 A.M. with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral services. A viewing will be held, Sunday, July 30 from 6 until 8 P.M. Funeral services and viewing will be held at Mountain View 1st Ward, 1128 E. 100 S., Payson, Utah (Just south of Mountain View Hospital.) Interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery.
