Blue Kolz was born to Joe Kolz and Mamie Gunter on February 28, 1952 in Durango, CO and passed away peacefully with his family close by on April 16, 2010. He leaves a legacy through his children, Buck Kolz and wife Jennifer, Jody Kolz and wife Beth, and Beth Ann Coombs and husband Dustan. And 8 wonderful grandchildren who loved their Grandad Blue very much; Taylor (8), Dylan (7), Brad (6), Olivia (5), Mason (4), Marcus (4), Spencer (3), and Cadence (1). Blue was a great horseman, powerful storyteller, lover of music and dancing, and mentored many he met in these passions. Our hearts go out to those who knew him and will miss him. We pray the things he taught and the stories he told will live on through you. He loved the San Juan mountains and some of his happiest moments were spent riding through them. Ride on, cowboy. We love you Dad.
A bbq memorial will be held in Blue's honor in Bayfield, Colorado area at Berri Park, above Middle Mountain, on August 7th at noon. Beth Ann Coombs may be contacted via bethanncoombs@gmail.com for further information.
The family would like to thank the following for their kind service and consideration: Mercy Hospital of Durango, LDS Hospital of Salt Lake City, and Hearts for Hospice of American Fork.
