Our father, husband and friend passed away November 26, 2010. He was born May 16, 1940 in Ogden, Utah to Weldon and Phyllis Bradshaw Heslop.
In his early years, Boyd enjoyed golfing, reading and collecting coins and stamps. He earned the Eagle Scout award. His mother could always find him on the baseball diamond or at Beus Pond where he'd catch sparrows and cook them on a spit.
He pitched for the American Legion Baseball League and ran for the Weber High Track Team. He served a mission for the LDS Church to Northern Germany. Later, he married Sandra Jo Hough on March 17, 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Boyd attended USU where he earned his BS Degree in Secondary Education and later his MS in Educational Curriculum. He worked as a School Teacher for the Weber County School District for 31 years and as a Water Commissioner for the Ogden River and later worked for Buena Vista Water District.
He was known for his "Magic" act and was a big fan of the Yankees and Jazz.
He was currently serving a mission with his wife for the LDS Church in Guest Member Services at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. He loved his family and was a happy, good-natured man that always had a joke or story to tell. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, his brothers Terry (Linda)and Nevin (Lynette), brother-in-law Paul (Lynn) Hough, his daughter Eryn Michelle, and sons Michael B. (Christine), Andrew P. (Brenda), Daren B., Jason R., Brandon T. (Natalie), along with seven grandchildren.
