Bud Neal Mason was born in Aurora, Utah on Nov. 11, 1924. He was the son of Vivian Austin Mason and Ursula Pearl Curtis. He passed away in Brigham City on March 28, 2011. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served in the Navy. Bud loved genealogy, rock collecting, painting and making flower center pieces, and he served as a Seminary teacher. He married Ruth Boardman on Jan. 30 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away in 1959. He then married Carmi Raplee on Mar. 7, 1962. They later divorced and he married Carol Ann Ireland on March 20, 1980. They also divorced. He is survived by three sisters Joy Engle, Lola Lees and Larue Green all of Utah; his children, Ruth Ann (Neil) Mitchell of Provo, David (Ann) Mason of Pheonix, Arizona, Kathleen (Scott) Olsen of Tremonton, Holly (R.J) Smith of Smithfield, Aaron (Melody) Mason of Brigham City and Candace Mason of Idaho. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Provo Sunset Fifth Ward chapel (1402 South 570 West, Provo) at 2 p.m. on April 1, 2011 with a viewing prior to services from noon to 1:45. Interment will be at the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery (4800 N. 650 E. Provo). In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to an account opened at Zion's Bank to help defray expenses.
