Carl Herman Hagberg

Carl Herman Hagberg passed from this life February 2nd at the age of 80 in Salt Lake City Ut. Carl was born in Providence RI on Oct. 23 1929 to Donald Herman and Alice Thoren Hagberg. He married Joycelyn Kendall (deceased) and they had 8 children. Married Darlene Clark on Aug 20 1973. Carl was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings his favorite being that of a home teacher. Carl served our country in the navy during the Korean conflict. Upon his return he worked as a police officer for both the Salt Lake Police Dept. and Salt Lake Community College. He also worked for many years as a salesman. When he retired he and Darlene moved to St. George and loved it there. Carl was a writer and wrote many books, poems and one liners. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Darlene and his children Donald ( Irena) Hagberg , Alice (Mark) Gentry, Joycelyn ( William) Merkish, Mary (John) Issacson, Edwin Hagberg and John Hagberg. Stepchildren Dana ( Suzanne) Clark, Deanne (Charlie) Hastings, Connie (Roy) Stromberg, Caron (Kent) Wilson and Camille (Matt) Snell, 43 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Sisters Violet Burns, June Payne and Joan Mitchell. Preceded in death by his two sons Joseph and Carl Eric. Funeral services and viewing to be held at the Sandy 20th LDS wardhouse 1280 E Turquoise Way (10000 So.) Viewing on Sunday February 7th from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday February 8th prior to service from 9:30 to 10:30. Funeral will be held on February 8th at 11:00 am.
