Carlie Waddoups Hale

Carlie Waddoups Hale passed away Feb. 22, 2002 at the age of 81. She was born September 25, 1928 to Vivian Call Waddoups and Carlie Lyman Waddoups in Milford, Utah. She was the last living member of her 9 brothers and sisters. She married Max Blaine Roberts July 6, 1947 and later solemnized in the Manti Temple. They lived in Mc Gill, Nevada for 11 years. They were in 1958 divorced. They had 3 children Blaine V. Roberts, Gorden M. Roberts, and Carlene Roberts-Steadman.

She was then married to Vernon N. Gronning Jan. 3, 1959. They were married for 40 years until Vernon passed away. Carlie lived in Milford, Utah, Las Vegas, Nevada and LaVerkin, Utah with Vernon. She moved to Seattle Washington to help her son Blaine with his business for several years after Vernon died.

Then she moved to Rigby, Idaho. Carlie met and married Hubert (Buck) Hale of Rigby, Idaho on Jan 10, 1992. They were married for 5 years until he passed away.

She is survived by her children: Blaine V. Roberts and Dixie Roberts, Gorden M. Roberts and Terri Roberts, and Carlene Roberts-Steadman and Michael Steadman, Step children: Trenna and Joe McClaren, Chris Gronning, Belinda and Merlin Sharp, Barbara and Jimmy Colvin and Mr. and Mrs.Kenneth Hale. She has 23 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren 11 step grandchildren and 23 step great grandchildren with Vernon. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with Buck. Total 39 Grandchildren and 79 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 step-son Jimmy Gronning, 2 grandchildren Cassie Roberts and Daniel Roberts her husbands Max B. Roberts, Vernon N. Gronning, Hubert (Buck) M. Hale and all of her brothers and sisters and parents.

She was a faithful member of the LDS church and served others with her whole heart. She worked in the St. George temple and Idaho Falls Temple as an ordinance worker. She was a Relief Society President in Las Vegas and in Rigby Idaho. She later served and LDS mission to the Salt lake Genealogical Family Mission.

She graduated from Milford High School and attended Es-cells School of Cosmetology and lived at the Beehive house in Salt Lake. She owned her own beauty Salon in Las Vegas where she was president of the cosmetology association for many years. She returned back to College in St. George, Utah and graduated in her 50's.

Carlie loved the outdoors. She loved to hunt and fish and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and was always thinking of others before herself. She loved to sew and spent many hours serving others through humanitian service. She love to make wonderful crafts, porcelain, paintings and gifts and her joy was to share these with others. She was always helping someone. Her passion was for genealogy work. She research and submitted many names for temple work.

There will be no funeral at her request. There will be a graveside service in LaVerkin, Utah pending future arrangements,
