Carmen Ramert Kohler Curtis Sumsion; 78, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away Monday, March 02, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was born October 8, 1930 in Fulda, Minnesota, the daughter of William John Ramert and Leone Bramwell. She is a graduate of Fulda High School. Her siblings were: Keith (Eunice) Ramert, Bonnie (Jim) Deagle, Eldon (Amy) Ramert. Carmen married Kenneth Kohler on September 25, 1952 and had seven children. Carmen is survived by her children, Karren (Joe) Neal, Douglas (Lesia) Kohler, Susan (Cory) Greenwell, Christine (Bill) Schoeek, David (Amy) Kohler, Patricia (Matt) Morris, and Sara (Sean) Covey; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; She married Jesse R. Curtis on October 8, 1978. He shared his children which she loved: Dee (Dawn) Curtis, Susan (Gordon) Porter and Jerry (Jean) Curtis. He preceded her in death. She later married Bill Sumsion on December 23, 1989. He too preceded her in death. Professionally, she worked at St. Maries Hospital, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and at the Heber Hospital in Heber City, Utah. She also owned Edelweiss Garden Center in Midway, Utah and Alpinhof Inn & Bakery in Midway. She was also a member of Century 21 Real Estate in Wasatch County. Carmen was a prizewinning photographer and loved sewing, gardening and was the best cook. She served in the Parley's 3rd Ward as Relief Society President.
The families' hearts go out to mom's friends whom she loved. Viewing will be Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Little Cottonwood LDS 5th Ward Chapel. (6350 Rodeo Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah). A graveside service will be held at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 S. Highland Drive).
