CAROL M CAINE WEBB
Our "Christmas" Carol was born December 15, 1921 to John and Martha Skoglund Caine in Sunnyside Utah, and left us dancing on September 3, 2009. Carol married H. C. Hunn in 1941, and she enjoyed the benefits of being a career military wife for the next 25 years. She was able to travel the United States extensively and lived in Japan for several years. She loved the advantages of finding friends everywhere she went and discovering new cultures. In 1959 they settled in Salt Lake to raise their family.
Mother became very involved in her LDS faith, and was a Primary teacher for many years, and loved her small charges. She held other callings as well, but her favorite times in church service was when she had the chance for socializing. In, 1979, she became widowed, and with her children grown, rediscovered her sense of adventure. Her new infatuation quickly became Utah Civil Air Patrol, and again she found a new group of friends. Although she never did receive her pilot's license, she did take flying lessons and could fly and land a plane on her own, and all of this in her late 50's! She also resumed a long lost passion for dancing and the family joke soon became that she had a much more active social life than her children.
In 1988, she married Ott Webb, and together they soon became to be known as the cutest Grandma and Grandpa couple EVER. Although they started out as snowbirds to St George every winter, they soon settled there permanently. It quickly became apparent that Mother wanted to make friends with every single person residing there, as well. Ott deceased in 2007 and mother returned to Salt Lake at that time. Although her health was declining by then, she continued to capture the hearts of all that met her these last few years.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Sue (Larry) Densley, Kim Hunn and Denese Hunn. Brothers Richard (Joann) Caine and Paul Caine. Grandchildren, Angela Day, Matthew Densley, TR Baese, Brittany Herbert and Jessica Hunn, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by sisters Phyllis, Marge and Nancy, brother Johnny, and son Russell Hunn, and one great-grandchild.
A graveside funeral service will be held at the Riverton City Cemetery (1500 W. 13200 S.) on Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 at 11 a.m. With recent failing health, we became quite dependent upon the assistance of a health care team, and would like to express gratitude for all who have been so devoted. Special heartfelt thanks to Doug and Julie Schooley, Carla McDowell, Erika Torres, Mattie Toledo, Mikelle Hatcher, Chpln. Cheryl Nunez, Chris Jensen, and Susan Moorlag. You shall all be fondly remembered for your compassion and support.
