Caroline Alice Crenshaw

Caroline Alice Crenshaw 1950 ~ 2009 Loving sister, valiant daughter and cherished aunt chose to return home to be reunited with her parents and grandparents. Caroline Alice Crenshaw passed away September 30, 2009. Born to Thelma Peterson and Laurie Munford Crenshaw on February 5, 1950 in Oakland, California.
Caroline spent her childhood years in Napa California. Caroline lived during most of her formative years with her grandparents, Henry Lewis and Cora Ana Beal Peterson, until their passing at which time she moved in with her parents. Caroline graduated from Napa High School in 1968. She played clarinet in the high school band. After her father died, Caroline and her mother moved into the residence at 1133 Pear Tree Lane in Napa. Caroline and her Mother, Thelma, became inseparable. Caroline became the owner of Napa Floral and ran a successful floral shop for many years. Both Caroline and her mother were dedicated members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Family and friends were an essential part of their lives. As Thelma's health began to fail, the decision was made to move them both to Payson, Utah where they spent the remainder of their lives together in the Payson Nursing and Rehab facility where they could be near family. Thelma passed away on October 10th, 2007 at age 97. From that time till her own passing, Caroline remained positive and a good influence to all those with whom she came in contact. When asked how she remained so positive, she would shrug her shoulder and say, "What else can ya do?" When her health would allow, Caroline took great joy in attending family gatherings with her nieces and nephews' families as well as with her elder brother's family. Caroline had a unique quality. No matter how daunting her health problems, regardless of the challenges that confronted her life, she met them all with cheerfulness and a love for all those with whom she came in contact. During a particularly grave illness, just after the death of her mother, Caroline received a unique blessing. She was promised that she would be able to overcome any illness and that she could remain on this earth as long as she desired. On September 30th, Caroline chose to return home to her Father in Heaven.

She is survived by her brother Mills (Shauna) and all of her nieces and nephews (Kevin, Jileen, Kim, David, Jennifer, Brenee, Tanya, Todd, Sean Paul, Rich, Chad, and Nicole) who considered her to be the "coolest aunt." Having never been married, she treated them like she would her own - listening, giving advice, and just hang out with them.
Caroline will be missed by all who knew her particularly her best friend Carrie Mecchi. Caroline's funeral will be held at Parkway Health Center, 55 S. Professional Way Payson, Utah on Monday, October 5th, 2009. The viewing will be from 10:30-11:00 followed at 11:00-12:00 by the Funeral Services. Interment at Salem City Cemetery.
