Carolyn Baker

Monday, October 22nd, an angel left this world for a better place. Carolyn was born in Murray, Utah 75 years ago. She lived a life of love and devotion to her husband Kay, who she married in the Salt Lake Temple 57 years ago, and to her kids and grandkids. Her beloved mother June Cardall Smith died when she was 7. She was blessed by a wonderful new mother Glenda Winget Spencer Smith when she was 9. After moving countless times in her childhood, she settled with Kay in Bountiful for 13 years after which they moved to North Logan where they have lived for the past 42 years. She lived a life of full of compassion and service to others including volunteering at the hospital and the temple. She loved people and could always brighten their day and make them laugh. She enjoyed her work as a receptionist for Dr. Ralph Binns for 15 years. Carolyn's family includes devoted and eternal companion Kay Baker, son Mikel Baker (deceased), daughter Shawna (Robert) Haider and son Kurt (Sally) Baker. Grandchildren include RoShawn (Joshua) Jones, Brady (Rachel) Haider, Holly (Jace) Barraclough, Jordan Haider, Samuel, Sarah and Andrew Baker and great-grand children Anellina, Carsten, Stockton and Savannah. Brothers and sisters include Verl Smith (deceased), LaMar Smith, Kenneth Spencer, and Glenda Ledgard. The family truly appreciates the loving care and compassion given by the people at Legacy House and Dr. Russell Hirst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27th at 11 am at the North Logan 11th Ward chapel, 1550 East 1900 North, North Logan. Prior to the services the family will be available from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the church. To accommodate those who are unable to travel to Logan, a graveside tribute will be held at 3 pm at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Services are under the direction of Serenicare Funeral Home of Providence. Condolences may be left using the guestbook at serenicare.com. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to breast cancer or Alzheimer's research.
