She was born on March 13, 1931 in Muncie, Indiana to Mary Ashton and Kenneth W. Cring. The family moved to Salt Lake City in 1943. She is survived by her two children, Lynda Sue Watson and husband Douglas and Robert M. Susie loved traveling and living abroad, where she had the opportunity to visit many European countries. She enjoyed the mountains and time spent in Albion basin and Alpine, Wyoming as well as visiting her children in their homes in Phoenix, Houston, and Troy, Montana as well as Deer Valley, Utah. Susie had many life long friends (you know who you are), many of which she played bridge with weekly and all of whom she loved dearly.
She was a volunteer with St. Mark's Hospital Auxiliary for over 31 years, serving more volunteer hours at the hospital than any other volunteer to date. She served as president of the Auxiliary in 1993, and was named St. Mark's Hospital's 1999 Volunteer Recipient for the Frist Humanitarian Award. It was Susie's desire that she have no formal funeral services and that any memorials be in the form of donations to St. Marks's Auxiliary, 1200 East 3900 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84124, ATTN: Lorraine Liston or Nancy Nunn. A memorial service is being planned at a St. Mark's Hospital at a later date. Please contact Lorraine Liston (801)268-7593 for further details.
