Carolyn Mortensen Thompson, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, on January 7th, 2008 after a valiant, but painful struggle with ALS (Lou Gehrigs).
This beautiful daughter was born to LaPriel and Milo Mortensen in Delta, Utah, Feb 21, l938. She graduated from Delta High in 1956 where she was very popular and won many awards. Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Mike Warnick, shortly after graduation. They were the parents of two children, David and Denise. Mike and Carolyn were later divorced and she was married to Clint Thompson at the time of her death. Carolyn fought many battles with demons in her life, but was always victorious and was a tireless giver of love and service to all she knew, giving of her time, money and home to anyone who needed it. She spent endless hours caring for her mother until her death two years ago. Her family was her great love and a source of pride.
She is survived by her husband, Clint, Magna, son, David (Rhonda) Warnick, West Valley, daughter, Denise (Dewey) Garner, Cedar Hills, brother's Ken (Connie) Mortensen, Delta, Sid (Janice) Mortensen, Pleasant Grove, Sister Julie(Mike) Katzorke, Scottsdale, AZ. 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas.
Our family would like to thank the angels of CNS Hospice who cared for Carolyn and a special thanks to her nurse and friend, Nau.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the Mt. Calvary Family Worship, 3280 West 3100 South, West Valley City, Utah with a viewing at the church prior to services at 10:00 am. Graveside services will be later that day at the Delta, Utah City Cemetery.
