Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Charles (Chick) O'Malley Lundberg, 90, died of congestive heart failure at his home in Springville, Utah, on May 21, 2007. Chick was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 18, 1916, the son of Fred L. and Grace O'Malley Lundberg. Chick enlisted in the Utah National Guard when he was fifteen years old and served for 6 years. After graduating from West High School in Salt Lake City in 1932, he was employed as a salesman by Cudahy Packing Company. Chick married Virginia Willey on April 26, 1941 in Bountiful, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Cardston Alberta, Canada Temple. He enlisted in the United States Army shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack. Chick was sent to the Philippine Islands where he was assigned to the U.S. Army Training Group. He was awarded the Military Merit Medal by the President of the Philippines; he was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in April of 1946.
Chick settled in Hardin, Montana, where he and two brothers and their wives owned and operated Fox Oil Company. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Chick valued faith promoting experiences in his calling as a Seminary Teacher and his participation in the Hill Cumorah Pageant. He was a member of the following organizations: S.C.O.R.E. -- a department of the Small Business Administration, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Past Post Commander of Post 4781, Past Master of St. John's Lodge #92, the Powder River Lodge #135, Al Bedoo Shrine and a trumpeter in the Al Bedoo Concert Band. Chick served twice as President of the Hardin Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the Big Horn Canyon Highway Association, President of the Big Horn Canyon Natural History Association, President of the Big Horn County Senior Citizens Association, President of the Ridin' and Ropin' Club, Chairman of the Big Horn Conservation District, and Fire Chief for the Hardin Volunteer Fire Department. He was the first to volunteer for church and civic activities.
Upon retirement, Chick and Virginia relocated to Springville, Utah, where he worked in the medical office of his son-in-law.
Chick's extensive knowledge of many subjects made him a delightful and entertaining conversationalist. His sense of humor was unequaled and cherished by his family and friends. His immeasurable love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren were the means of treasured relationships.
Chick was preceded in death by 9 siblings and his daughter Ginny (Dennis) Lind, Missoula, MT. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia; children, Charles (Ellen), Ashburn, VA; Ann (Patrick) Kronmiller, Springville, UT; Jeri (Al) Merkley, Orem, UT; John (Susie), Glendale, AZ, and Jay (Joy), Hardin, MT; grandchildren, Janna, Erika, Kate, Peter, Carrie, Liz, Emily, McKay, Micah, Arryn, Paige, Brady, Kyler, Anika, Kalli, Libby, Jordan, Kiley, Kelsey, Tanner, Tasha, Byron, Brendon, Clayton, Rissa, Brett, Sven, Briana, Dane, Bjorn, Alexandra, Torrin, Cortney, Todd, Jayson , Taylor, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 2, at 12 noon at the Hunter Valley LDS Chapel in Springville, Utah, 1050 S 1700 E (east on 400 S, right on 1300 E, right on 1700 E). The viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon, prior to the services.
