Charles Franklin Middleton, Jr. passed away peacefully at noon on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Golden Living Retirement Home in Orem, Utah. He was 92 years of age and had lived a full and wonderful life. In his final hours he was surrounded by his two remaining children, their wives and several other family members.
Chuck, as he was known to his friends, was born on January 29, 1920 in Rigby, Idaho. His ancestors had crossed the plains as Mormon pioneers with a determination to provide a better life for their families and others in spite of any personal sacrifice that might lie ahead. They had no fear of death or trial because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Chuck exemplified this determination in his life, and was always willing to lend a helping hand and a friendly heart to anyone.
His life was full of happiness since he continually looked for ways to bless the lives of those around him.
Chuck leaves a wife, Mary, age 92, to whom he had been married for 68 years. During the past seven years he had been her primary caregiver as she battled Alzheimer's disease. He is also survived by his two sons, their wives, a son-in-law, 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. His only daughter preceded him in death 25 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at the Vineyard LDS Chapel at 800 S. Geneva Road, Orem, UT on Saturday, August 4 at 3:00 pm. Family prayer will be held at 2:45 pm.
The family deeply appreciates the love and kindness shown to all of us during this difficult time by the Golden Living staff, Freedom Hospice and SereniCare Funeral Home.
In lieu of sending flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice. Chuck would have wanted it that way.
