Colleen West

Colleen West passed away peacefully, in her home on Easter Sunday March 23rd 2008.
Colleen was born on September 20, 1928 in Salt lake City, Utah She was the youngest daughter of Dewey Charles, and Pricilla White. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Her family moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she graduated from high school. She attended Idaho State University. She also trained as a dental assistant, and worked for Dr. Hyrum Bergstrom DDS in Salt Lake City, as a young woman. She met Robert West during this time and were later married in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for more than 57 years.
Colleen was active in the LDS church, and served the as Primary President and Relief Society President. In recent years she served as a temple worker in the Bountiful Temple with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. West and her children, Chad West, Shannon Waters, and Kimberly Martinelli. Colleen gave birth to three children who passed away shortly after their birth. Tamara, Christopher and Nathan West, who only survived long enough to be given a name and a blessing. Colleen was a grandmother to eight, and a great-grandmother to fourteen beautiful children.
She loved her family very much. They were the focus of her life. Colleen loved to make blankets for her great-grand children. Colleen had many friends, who loved her, and will dearly miss her.
Colleen and Bob often enjoyed visiting San Diego, California, where Bob served early in their marriage, as a coordinator for the LDS Church Education System. They would hold hands while sitting on a small bench, on the west side of a lighthouse on Point Loma looking out over the Pacific Ocean.
Someday they will hold hands and enjoy each other's company again in the spirit world.
Funeral Services will be Saturday March 29th at noon, with a viewing prior to service at 10:30 am. at the LDS Bridlewood Ward, 165 West Monarch Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Internment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
