Connie Johnson Adams

Connie Adams was reunited with her sweetheart August 19, 2012. Connie was born September 9, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two weeks later she was placed in the arms of her parents, who drove her home to Preston, Idaho. They had waited 15 years for their 8th child (5th surviving). She was cherished and adored by her parents and adult siblings.

Connie lived in Preston until she was 12, at which time her family moved to Ogden, Utah. She developed a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs and horses while living on the farm in Preston. Through all the challenges in her life, she always had a dog by her side.

Connie graduated from Ogden High School in 1950, then attended Weber College for 1 year. She spent the following year working full time to save money to realize her lifelong dream of attending Utah State Agricultural College. Connie spent 3 years at Utah State and graduated with a dual major- Early Childhood/ Elementary Education and Art History.

Connie taught elementary school almost continuously for the next 38 years. She taught in Utah, Nevada, California, and Nance, France. Her life was blessed by many children and their lives were blessed by hers. Connie loved to travel. She traveled all over North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. She loved to read, read the newspaper cover to cover every day, and was actively involved in politics and community.

Connie married the love of her life, Stanley Joshua Adams on August 28, 1970. Through marriage, she became another mother to his 6 children. She loved them dearly and maintained a relationship with them her entire life. Connie's only biological child, Laura Kate, was born March 1, 1972. Connie was a loving, dedicated, and engaged mother. She loved and cared for each of her children and always put their needs before her own. Connie was widowed in 1974 through a sudden accident. She was a strong woman and managed all aspects in her life independently and with joy but missed her beloved "Josh" every minute of every day for the rest of her life.

Connie became a grandmother in 2000. She loved being a grandmother and dedicated all of her time and attention to this task as long as she was able. Her 3 grandchildren adored her and were so blessed to have her live with them for most of the last 5 years of her life.
