Conway Welch Dunn, age 89 passed away Thursday March 11, 2010 at home. He was born March 2,1921 in Logan Utah to Charles Welch Dunn and Lula Schenk Dunn, the seventh of ten children. He served a mission to the Eastern States Mission from 1942 through 1944. He enlisted in the Navy and served for two years during the end of WWII, part of his service was in China. He was released from service as a Yoeman 3rd Class in 1946. He married Grace Eloise Burdick in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 4, 1947.
Conway attended Utah State University and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1948. Always trying to increase his education, he continued to take classes throughout his adult life. He taught school in Boise, Idaho and in Southern California for many years. At the end of his teaching career he was working with special needs children, which he enjoyed very much. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite thing to do was missionary work. He helped to convert many to the gospel. He served a Family History mission with his wife, Grace, after retiring from teaching school. Conway loved to visit with others and tell stories from his past. Conway and Grace lived several years in Boise, Idaho. In 1963 they moved to Southern California to reside in Covina until he retired and moved to the Salt Lake area in 1992. They moved to West Valley City in 1994 where they have lived since. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lula; his siblings, Charles, Meryl, Joe, Lula, Vera, Edith, and Irv. Conway is survived by wife Grace; sisters Miriam and Helen; children Susie Slater, C Mark Dunn (Twyla), Gary R Dunn Sr. (Ann), Terry S Dunn (K C), Christina Babcock (Eric), Scott C Dunn (Sandra), and 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel, 4165 S 3920 W, West Valley, UT.
