Craig Skinner

Craig left this world February 9, 2011, for his next great ride on his Harley Davidson.
Craig was born May 22, 1950 in Oakland, California to Jack "Bud" Skinner and Eleanor "Momma" Cook Skinner. Craig was an only child and the light of his parents life. Craig moved to Salt Lake City in 1952 and to Kearns in 1954. He graduated from Kearns High School in 1968 and enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1969. Craig served 2 years on the USS Melon for his tour of duty in Viet Nam. On his return stateside, he was stationed on the Bluebell in Vancouver, Washington for two years until his discharge in 1973. To this day, he hated the water. He met his wife Janet in 1971 and they were married in Yakima, Washington in 1973. In 1974, Craig returned to Kearns, Utah where he and Janet raised three beautiful and talented children.
Craig's work history was quite varied from working at a sawmill to grocery to construction to heavy duty mechanic and was dedicated to all who employed him.
Craig's passions were his family, bluegrass music, his banjo and his Harley Davidson.
Craig loved to spend time at his cabin in Gold Hill, Utah. He appreciated the solitude and beauty of the area and always felt he had be born a generation too late to enjoy the quiet life that the West desert offered. Craig shared his love of motorcycles with friends and family and was able to make the annual ride to the Elko Motorcycle Jamboree with his daughter and two sons: Kristin, JD and Ryan.
Craig is survived by wife, Janet, daughter Kristin, sons JD (Jean) and Ryan (Dezarae), and grandchildren, Damion, Logan, Mersedes and Treyson.
Craig's love of his family and friends knew no bounds and that love was returned unconditionally by all who knew him.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists, who saw Craig as an individual, and Rocky Mountain Hospice for the gentle care they provided. Special thanks to SereniCare for their thoughtfulness and sincerity to the Skinner family.
