David Robert George Sr

David Robert George Sr., "Pops" passed away on May 17, 2010 at the home of his daughter in Magna, Utah. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jane. Together they had four children Gail Johnson, David Robert George Jr., Cynthia Anderson, and TraciLee Wilde. He later married Gayle Henline and was blessed by another child Brittney, both reside in South Carolina. Dad was employed and retired from Shaw AFB. During his childhood his father taught him the skills of working with his hands. He could fix or build anything and offered his talents freely to anyone who needed his help. After moving to Utah from Harrisburg, PA, he built many homes and cabins in his beloved mountains in and around Utah. He enjoyed painting, drawing and was an avid WWII enthusiast. He could tell you about any of the wars and which planes flew in those wars. He served many years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Dad will be greatly missed by his children, 19 grand children, and 38 great-grand children. He, as well as 4 brothers and 7 sisters, were blessed to be the sons and daughters of John and Catherine George. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Services will be at the LDS stake center on 3100 S. 8400 W. on Thursday May 20, 2010. Viewing will be 10:00-11:00AM, with services directly following. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Dad will be laid to rest next to our dear mother, Betty Jane, who he sorely missed for 23 years. Daddy we will miss your funny stories, and strange sense of humor, and those sparkling blue eyes. We will love you always.
