Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Dave's strong will and hope helped him fight a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Dave was born September 26, 1943 in Salt Lake City, to Edward Lynn and Gloria Olson. He graduated Cyprus High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart Diane Markham, in 1962, in Las Vegas. They moved to southern California where they raised three beautiful daughters, later moving back to Utah.
Dave was the "World's Greatest Salesman," and recently retired from the Paradigm Group. He had a passion for motorcycles, especially his Harley. Dave was the life of the party and lived life to the fullest. He loved spending time camping and fishing with his grandchildren. Time spent in their motor home with Diane, family and friends will always be cherished. He also had a special place in his heart for Laguna Beach, CA.
Survived by his wife Diane of forty six years; daughters; Diana-Muffin Olson, Darcy (Mike) Willis, Nan (Michael) Lewis, grandchildren; Jordan, Anika, Amanda, Arianna, Bridger & Brock. Sisters; Vicki (Wes) Mathis, Shelley (Codge) Caldwell, also: Del (Julie) Markham, Jeanette (Al) Fahrni & Dick Harris. Many special nieces and nephews as well as aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by father Lynn and mother Gloria, and sisters in law Muggs & Pat.
A Celebration of David's life will be held on April 22, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at The Chateau at The Rose Shop, 1910 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
A special thanks to Huntsman Cancer Institute and all the caring doctors, nurses and friends we have there. Thanks also to Hearts for Hospice for all their special care. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of David L. Olson, to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation at 500 Huntsman Way, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108.
