Dean Wilde Thomas

Dean Wilde Thomas, 81, passed away on June 19, 2009 at his home surrounded by family. Dean was born on August 23, 1927 in Garfield, Utah to William Nathan and Elva (Wilde) Thomas. He married Bonita Carter on June 14, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dean was raised in Garfield and graduated from Cyprus High. He served in the US Army during reconstruction of Japan after WWII and served an LDS mission to the Spanish American Mission. He later graduated from BYU. He worked at Kennecott Copper for 31 years and loved gardening, church history and being of service to his fellowman. Dean is survived by his wife, Bonita; children, Diana; Allan (Janet); Rodney and Jaren (Elaina); 7 grandchildren; sister, Joan Sprague and brother, Ted Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Centennial Park Ward Building, 3372 Merry Lane, West Valley City, at 12 noon with viewing Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Interment will follow the services at the Valley View Memorial Park.
