DeAnna Lewis passed away peacefully on December 20, 2011.
She was born August 26, 1941 in Price, Utah to Helen Brinkerhoff and John Samuel Lewis.
She grew up in Emery, Utah where she gained a love of riding horses and competing with them. At the age of 12, she was hurt in a horse accident which left her paralyzed on the left side of her body. The doctor's had told her she would never walk or talk again, but through her determination, she was able to overcome these obstacles.
DeAnna attended Wasatch Academy. She graduated later from the University of Utah, with a degree in Education. She taught school for six years and then retired as a social worker from the State of Utah, where she was able to help and aid many families.
DeAnna spent many hours doing Genealogy, watching the Utah Jazz and the Utah Utes, while drinking her beloved Diet Coke. DeAnna is survived by three daughters, Stacy (Phillip) Dean, Bonnie (Peter) Granzin and Barbara (Jeremy) Britton, as well as 8 grandchildren: Samuel, Jocylin, Tyler, Lindsay, Marshall, Caitlyn, Lauren and Maxwell. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother and many friends. DeAnna was preceded in death by her parents.
Mom was the glue that held our family together. She was a hard working, loving, giving and loyal person. She will forever be missed and loved! We will always LOVE YOU MOM and NANA! Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, at noon in the Cottonwood 4th Ward chapel, 5565 Neighbor Lane. There will be a viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at the Cottonwood 4th Ward chapel, and again from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the day of services. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial, 3401 S. Highland Drive.
