Delilah Drexl Foster
1952-2012
Delilah Drexl Foster passed away suddenly in her home on June 14th, 2012. Lila was born October 8, 1952 in Salt Lake City to Roy and Laura Drexl.
She graduated from the University of Utah, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Elementary Education. She was sealed to Dennis Foster on March 16, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. After teaching 6th grade for 2 years, Lila chose to come home and be a full time wife and mother.
Lila spent her time serving those around her, above all, her family. Lila supported her 3 girls in their many activities, especially softball. She coached, cheered, and chauffeured her girls to tournaments and activities, only missing one because she was at another.
Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Affectionately dubbed "Candy Grandma," Lila was always quick to hand out treats and love to her 7 grandchildren.
Lila also volunteered for 26 years playing piano and teaching music at 4 different Elementary Schools. Her newest love was Cub Scouts where, for nearly a decade, she enjoyed helping the boys learn and grow.
Lila is survived by her husband, Dennis; 3 daughters, RaChelle (Charlie) Sumpter, Teri (Ryan) Josephson, Stephanie (Jake) Hunter; grandchildren, Payton, Hailee, Madison, Savannah, Kelton, Jake Jr., and Shaylee; mother, Laura; and sister, Sue (Kurt) Carlson.
A viewing will be held Mon. June 18 from 6-8PM, & Tues. June 19 from 9-10:30AM, with the funeral to follow at 11AM, all at the Sego Lily Ward, 9800 S. Flint Dr (1125 E), Sandy, UT. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. For more information or to send condolences, please visit LilaFoster.com.
