DENNIS WAYNE EGBERT 6/18/1943 TO 4/25/2011
Dennis Wayne Egbert age 67 passed away at his home April 25 after a valiant fight with ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was born June 18, 1943 in Twin Falls Idaho to Parley Milton Egbert and Sarah Tolman Egbert. He was raised in Murtaugh, Idaho. He was active in cub scouts and scouts and graduated from Murtaugh High with a class of 25 students. Dennis could fix anything and was always available to help a neighbor, friend or family member. He especially loved to fix and restore old cars. He was always willing to give advice to others as they sought out his opinion. His life was one of hard work, from working at home with his father and mother on the farm. He later became a mechanic, worked in a parts department for Ford Motor Company and later at ranching with his brother Lamar. He loved working in the fields with the large equipment. He also served his country as a member of the National Guard. In 1998 the family moved to Utah where Dennis worked for IHC in their engineering department and later worked for Wal-Mart in the tire and lube department. He loved his work and the people that he worked with. Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints where he held several positions. He served a mission to Florida. He also served in a branch presidency and was a faithful home teacher. In 1971 he married his soul mate Margaret Rose Bischoff in the Logan, Utah Temple. From this union came four children Wayne, Kevin, Shanna and Brett. He is also survived by two sisters Dolores Bischoff (Lovell, Wy) and Ireta Hodges (Boise, Id) and two children from a previous marriage. Denise Reese and Brian Shiosaki. He is also survived by nine grandchildren who he loved dearly. He also was adopted by many other children who loved him as a grandpa. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Lamar and a sister Janice. Dennis will be remembered for his keen sense of humor. He enjoyed a good story and loved to tease which made him a favorite uncle, brother, father and son. Dennis, through your trial you taught us humility and strength. Your example will teach us all what it means to endure with gratitude to the end. The family wishes to thank Envision Health Care for the kindness show to Dennis in his final days and also to thank neighbors, friends and family for the care and concern.
