Dennis Patrick Holmes passed away at home on June 7, 2012. Born May 18, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Elmer and Mary Juliabelle Morris Holmes.
He spent his professional life in Los Angeles and Albuquerque, NM. He and his wife Ann moved to Sandy when Dennis retired in 2002 after a career in advertising. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He had a lifelong love of politics and sports, particularly football, having played quarterback throughout his years at SIU. For the past six years, Dennis served as a service missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Addiction Recovery Program in the Salt Lake City mission.
He is survived by his wife Ann; daughter Valerie McKinney and son Greg Holmes, both of Albuquerque, and several grandchildren.
