Deon Gailey Asay, 75, of West Valley City, Utah passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at her home.
Deon was born November 23, 1935, the daughter of Archie Bruce Gailey and Ella Mann Gailey. She attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School in 1956. On April 25, 1958 she married Milton Dean Asay in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Salt Lake.
Deon worked for EC Electro Control in Salt Lake for 10 years. She loved to find and fix used bicycles and then resale them. The children in her neighbourhood would come to her to fix their bikes. She had a love for helping people.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Asay, a brother; Floyd (Ercell) Gailey and sisters in law; Carmen Gailey, Glenna Gailey and Beaverly Gailey. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hillsdale LDS Ward Chapel (3175 S. 3450 West, West Valley City, UT). The family will meet with friends Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
