Dewey Connell "Con" Olds
Dewey Connell Olds, 77, died March 16, 2007 in Provo, Utah. Dewey was born in Grand Junction, Co. on Dec 30, 1929 to Dewey Glen Olds and Sarah Lorreen Davis.
He married Jeanine Afton Whiting Jan 18, 1949. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb 21, 1957.
Con was a professional fighter and was Gene Fuler's sparing partner. He and Gene held fights and the proceeds were donated to the LDS Church building fund. Con also worked in the logging and trucking industry, he was known as "the Christmas tree man".
He is survived by his wife, Jeanine, children: Dianne Gordon, Lorreen (Brad) Butler, Billy (Valarie) Olds, Candus Anderson, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children; Connie Ann and Gerry Michael Olds.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Provo 1st Ward, 200 South 100 East, Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am as well as Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm also at Provo 1st Ward under the direction of SereniCare Funeral Home.
