Diane Eloise Werny St. George, UT- Diane Eloise Werny, died February 10, 2010 after a valiant battle with cancer. Diane was born April 5, 1950, in Los Angeles, California to Harry Leonard and Thelma Ballam Heasley (aka Le Roy). She spent her early years in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Whittier High School. It was in high school that Diane was baptized into the LDS church, and was an unwavering servant of her Heavenly Father until the end.
Diane attended Rio Hondo Jr. College during which time she found her eternal companion, Eric Neil Werny. They were sealed in the Los Angeles temple on July 31, 1971. They moved to St. George, Utah in 1988.
Her interests included; family, crafting, and rescuing animals. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother for 22 years until she passed away at age 88.
Diane is survived by her husband: Eric Neil Werny: her son Matthew Todd Werny, and her daughter-in-law Shannon Werny. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the 5th Ward LDS Chapel 85 S. 400 E. St. George, UT. A visitation will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service, also at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
