Don T. Mecham
1933 ~ 2010
Don passed away Sunday evening at Utah Valley Medical Center after a year of poor health.
He was born July 2, 1933. He is the son of Thell and Florence Howe Mecham. He attended Herrington Grade School and American Fork High School where he graduated in 1951. He attended BYU for 2 years studying Business Management. He served his country as part of the US Air Force during the Korean conflict and also served in Germany. After his return from service he resided in San Gabriel California where his parents Thell and Dee Mecham were residing.
He married Sally Keenen upon his return from the Service in San Gabriel California. The marriage was later solemnized in the Las Angeles Temple.
He was fun loving, enjoyed the outdoors and the mountains and so returned to Utah and settled in Saratoga Springs.
He is survived by his dear wife Sally, his only daughter, Julie Walker (Eric), four grandchildren, Brandon, Lance T., Cassandra and Rebecca, all of Saratoga Springs, two sisters, Elaine Beck, of Yoba Linda, California, Marilyn Groneman, of Springville. He is preceeded in death by his father, Thell Mecham, mother, Florence Howe, step-mother, Dee H. Mecham, sister, Pearl Wollohan (Pat), and baby daughter, Karen who lived only 3 days.
Services will be held Saturday, August 7th, at 1:00 P.M. at the Saratoga Springs Stake Center, 2947 Swainson Ave., Saratoga Springs with military honors to follow at the same site by the American Fork VFW.
