Don R. Nelson

Don R. Nelson, born January 27, 1942, to Leo A. and Nonavie S. Nelson, died on May 25, 2010 at the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. Don served honorably in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Vietnam Era. He and his wife, Vera, along with their daughter, Gwen, were lifelong Ogden residents. Don was a contractor and helped build the Dee Event Center, Western Zirconium and Newgate Mall. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vera, his daughter, Gwen and sister, Phyllis Hadley. He is survived by his brothers, Leo R. (Sonia) Nelson and Gary L. Nelson, grandchildren; Jenny (Marc), Trevor (Mandy) Hobbs and Nick Nelson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Our gratitude goes to the nursing staff of McKay Hospital and VistaCare. Special thanks to Terry Chase, who cared and befriended Don these past two years. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
