Donabelle Mary Swingle

The heart cannot be measured nor faith be confined. Devotion is without boundary, and love knows not extent. Donabelle Mary Swingle owned these riches and shared them with all. Earthy and genuine, we did not wonder what she thought; she let us know, without pretension or employing any euphemism. Many were drawn to her honesty and directness and felt at ease in her presence. She gave her voice to those who had none or lost it along the way. When she was able to give, she did not ask repayment, giving shelter to people in their darkest hour, regardless of status, seeking no credit. From her earliest years, she exercised these qualities as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Although she knew the intricacies of her faith and was devoted to Jehovah God and His word The Bible, of great importance to her was the welfare of those in the congregation and her many other good friends. Born April 2, 1926 to Harry and Minnie Belle Denney in Milford, Utah, Donabelle grew up on the railroads of the west, the daughter of a telegrapher. As a child she was never in the same place for long. She attended thirteen different Junior High Schools, so she knew the value of good friends and acquired them with ease and without delay. She married Francis Leroy Swingle on May 14, 1945. They were near perfect compliments sustaining each other through good and difficult times, each one claiming the other kept them aligned. As strong and courageous as she was, losing her husband in 2007 became her greatest challenge. She acknowledged her imperfections to those who were close; she was sometimes weak, in need of forgiveness, and acutely aware of her divine spiritual need. She tendered her life of trust and hope in Jesus Christ and Jehovah God on August 13, 2010. She was 84.

She is survived by her daughter Rae Lee Chow (William), her son David Swingle (Michele), grandchildren Kim and Shane Chow, Hilary and Bailey Swingle, her sister Harriett Daily (Devon), nieces and nephews, and her little doggy, Chi Peng. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Sandy Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9936 South 300 East, Sandy, Utah.
