Donald Parker Crosby, 77, passed away April 19, 2007 in his home in Lehi, Utah. Parker was born August 17, 1929 to George Ellis Crosby and Florence Leoma (Greer) Crosby in Greer, Arizona. He married Ivamarie Sonja (Dolly) Sowers on January 24, 1952 in the Mesa, Arizona temple. Parker enjoyed a childhood in the White Mountains of Arizona, and graduated from Round Valley High School in Eagar, AZ in 1949. Following graduation, he served stateside in the United States Air Force. Parker was an entrepreneur and owned various businesses, including Northeastern Arizona Construction Co., Crosby Lumber, Building Materials Supply, General Transportation Inc., and Safety Services Inc. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, camping, fishing, and hiking. He was also an avid sports fan, following BYU Cougars, Utah Jazz, and Cal Berkley. Parker and Dolly enjoyed visiting and spending time with their children and grandchildren, traveling long-distances to make it to special occasions.
Parker's life was one of service, to his family, church, and community. He served on the Apache County school board as board member and President. Parker was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a Bishop, High Counselor, Scout Master, and Stake Patriarch. He enjoyed serving as an ordinance-worker with his wife, Dolly, in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple.
Parker is survived by his wife, Dolly, sons Craig Parker Crosby (Vicki) and Matthew Scott Crosby (Amy), daughters Georganna Swanson (Mike) and Catherine Tanner (Todd), 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Roy Crosby and Jim (Loretta) Crosby, sisters Sylvia Clegg and Linda (Bob) Rothlisberger, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Spencer Baldwin Crosby, and brothers George Lorenzo Crosby and John Harris Crosby. His family wishes to express their gratitude to special friends, family and neighbors for their kind thoughts, prayers, and service in the past few weeks. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Lake Ward chapel, on 700 South and 500 West in Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. A Graveside Memorial and Interment at Eagar Cemetery will take place in Eagar, Arizona on Wednesday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m.
