Donald “Don” Charles Hinton beloved Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Papa, Grandpa & Great Grandpa at age 72 passed away surrounded by loved ones on the evening of December 12, 2024 at 6:20 PM and was received into the loving arms of his wife Carolann Hinton. Don was born to Carlon and Verna Hinton on February 25,1952 in Phoenix, Arizona and was the 5th child in a family of 8 Children-Marylin, Adrian, Wilma, Phyllis, (Don) Richard, Melea & Verlin. He went to Hurricane High School, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Kentucky, Tennessee Mission and then went on to Dixie College where he graduated in 1975 with an Associates in Applied Science.
It was there that he met and fell in love with Carolann White. They were married for time and all eternity on August 31, 1974 In the Idaho Falls Temple. For much of his professional career Don worked as an electrical engineer in the Aerospace industry.
Don was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving in many callings. He spent decades serving alongside his wife in the Scouting programs going on hikes and camp outs, countless Eagle Scout projects and organizing the Holiday flag fundraiser. They were instrumental in helping young men develop essential skills, build character, and become active citizens of their community. Their legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations of scouts.
Don had 5 children, Son, Charles Hinton, Daughter, Liz and (Jeff) Russell, Daughter, Marianne and (Corey) Bernal, Son, George and (Annie) Hinton, Daughter, Laura and (Jason) Vernor. He had 21 Grandchildren: Brandon Bernal, Trenton (Samantha) Russell, Samantha Guymon, Dayson (Erin) Russell, Danika Capell, Haydon (Alexa) Russell, Keaton Russell, Caitlyn Bernal, Korban Vernor Boston Russell, Kallie Vernor, Griffon Russell, Kalvon Russell, Kaydence Vernor, Quin Matheson, Orion Russell, Vivvion Russell, Jeffery Hinton, Ross Hinton, Kayslee Vernor, Kaiser Vernor and 1 Great Grandchild Kingston Russell.
Don loved to tell stories, He liked nothing more than having someone to sit and listen for a while as he would reminisce on the old and not so old days.
A Graveside services will be held on January 3, 2025 at 2 PM in the Hurricane City Cemetery: 225 East 600 North Hurricane, Ut. Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at the “Red Brick”LDS Church at: 274 South 100 West Hurricane, Ut. 84737. Please join us afterwards for a luncheon in his honor.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Carolann Hinton, His parents Carlon and Verna Hinton, Grandson Orion Russell and his Grandparents.
