Donald Duane Leaf

Donald Duane Leaf, October 14,1924 - September 22, 2011, went home to be with his LORD and Savior, Christ Jesus, whom he loved and served all of his life.
Donald was born in Kingsburg, California to Henning and Julia Leaf. He was the oldest of 6 children.
He graduated from Kingsburg High School. He served in the medical corps in the US Army during WWII, where he was stationed in Hawaii. He married Mary Helen Lewis June 28, 1946 and they raised 4 children together in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a founding member of Anchor Baptist Church.
Don worked hard to provide for his family and retired from Sunbeam Appliance Service Company, where he worked as a bookkeeper. After his retirement, he continued working at various places until he reached the point where he could no longer physically work.
He lived in Texas for a time, then moved to Alabama for 2 years, but then finally moved back home to Utah in April 2010, where he lived the remainder of his life.
He leaves behind his wife of over 65 years, Helen, sons Donald (Linda), David (Kathi) and daughters Sandra (Joe) Cutright, Ruth (Michael) Johnson, 15 grandkids, 29 great grandkids, 1 great-great grandchild, other family members and many friends.
Many thanks and much love to the staff at Spring Creek Health Care and Life Path Hospice who helped take care of dad over the past 1 ½ years.
Services will be held September 27, 2011 at Calvary Chapel Salt Lake, 460 West Century Drive (4350 South), Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing at 10:00 a.m., funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to assist with funeral expenses.
