Dorothy H. Stanley

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was called home to her Father in Heaven Monday, April 9, 2007 while surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the Lord, her beautiful stories and her amazing fried apple pies. She was a true southern lady, and our "Steel Magnolia" to the end.
Born October 14, 1917 to John and Della Hawn in Tupelo, MS. She married her sweetheart September 15, 1934. They were sealed for time and all eternity June 9, 1954 in the Cardston Temple, Canada. She served with her whole heart whenever called to a position within the church. She had a deep love for the Lord and a gentle compassion for those in need. She was always generous with her time, talent, and love.
She is survived by her children, Robert Stanley, Sandra Hoffman (Kent); grandchildren, Robert Haller, David Hoffman (Sherrie), Stephanie Tino (Garth), Jennifer Shebilske (Matt); 8 great grandchildren and her brothers John Hawn (Maxine), and Victor Hawn (Ruth). Preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, two grandchildren, and her eternal companion, James Stanley.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 12:00 noon at the LDS Corner Canyon 1st Ward 13006 South Boulder St. (1480 E). Friends and family may call from 10:30 - 11:30 am at the church prior to the service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, UT.
