Earl Norman Keate 1914 ~ 2007
Earl Norman Keate, 93, died October 19, 2007.
He was born March 11,1914 in Salt Lake City to Harry W. and Amanda Nordberg Keate and lived in Richfield, Utah until after high school.
At the age of eight he lost his mother. His father then married Vonda Ence.
He served a German speaking mission in Brazil and felt that learning German helped save his life during the war. During World War II he served in Germany and France as an artillery officer and later as an intelligence officer, earning a purple heart on D-Day.
In 1943, he married Arline Allred in the Mesa Arizona Temple. He and Arline lived in Arizona for 30 years.
After the loss of his beloved wife of 51 years, he moved back to Salt Lake City. There he met and married Verda Angel.
He is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Murray (Utah), Barbara Frazier (Florida), and Diane Keate (California); eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
We wish to thank the Canyon Creek staff and Rebecca Reading of Silverado Hospice for their care and loving service during his last days.
"Dad, we love you and will miss you."
