Eileen Nora Langhorst

Eileen Ricks Langhorst, age 85 passed away peacefully on Christmas Day 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born August 16th, 1921, in Swindon, England to Joseph and Harriet Ricks, she married Walter Ernest Langhorst on November 10, 1945, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Eileen was a proud homemaker and wife for much of her life and at the age of 51 returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. Eileen was the Director of Nursing at River Glen Nursing Home in Connecticut where she passionately ensured that the loved ones of many were cared for as if they were her own. All who entered her home were treated and revered as family members. She proudly supported her husband Walt in his sales career with her social graces and knack for hospitality.
Eileen is preceded in death by her husband Walt and is survived by her daughters Margaret Dunn (Robert), Mary Kortkamp (Walter); sons, Jeff Langhorst (Marija), and Eric Langhorst (Leslie); grandchildren: Greg Lavender, Jennifer Zanganeh (Alireza), Sarah Kortkamp, Meghan Kortkamp, Natalie Langhorst, Audrey Langhorst, Meagan Rumph, Kevin Rumph, and Steven Rumph; great-grandchildren: Tyler Kortkamp, Oliver Class, and Lilly Zanganeh.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2006, at 9 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 S. Foothill Blvd., in Salt Lake City. Interment will follow at Ellysian Gardens Burial Park, 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City.
