Elda Marrott Zubeck Overman Scott
Our beloved mother, Elda Marrott Zubeck Overman Scott, 90, passed away peacefully in St. George, Utah on April 14, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 17, 1919 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Clarence and Gladys Peck Marrott. Elda married George Zubeck in 1938 and together they have five children. After his death, she married Ed Overman in 1955 and together they have one child. After his death, living in Anchorage, Alaska, she married Harold Scott in 1972. Elda later moved back to Utah and to Lava Bluff in 1994 where she lived until her death.
Elda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, gardening and playing cards. And most of all, she loved her family.
Elda is survived by her son Bill (Brenda) Zubeck, Kenai, Alaska and daughters Georgia Stephan and Bonnie (Gary) Hunsaker, Anchorage, Alaska; Sharen (Rudie) Iversen, Poulsbo, Washington and Gayle (Mike) Bird of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis (Van) Leavitt, Leeds, Utah; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands, daughter Carolyn Careass, three grandchildren Shalah and Jared Bird and Brittney Black; sisters Reba Marrott, Reva Davis, Ruth Durfey and brothers Verlyn and Kay Marrott.
In honor of Elda's wishes, there will be no service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Provo City Cemetery in Provo, Utah. A grave dedication will be given by Tom Durfey, a nephew.
